Visited here for a quick bite on vacation. The prices are very reasonable! They also have many really good frozen drinks and teas available. I started off with fried potstickers (very good) and split pho and drunken noodles with my partner. The pho we got was #39 which had potstickers, and crispy and bbq pork! It was good. The portions are good and the meat in the items was plentiful. I would’ve liked the drunken noodles a little spicier (no real spiciness at all and I’m usually a wimp when it comes to spice) but they were still good!
This was my first time back here in about 9 years and it was great! I ordered the Stir Fry Bok Choy with Beef and a Mango smoothie, we ordered veggie pot stickers to share, and my boyfriend had the Pad Thai. The Stir Fry Bok Choy wasn’t very hot when it came out but it was still really good. The mango smoothie was sweet and tasted like a melted mango ice cream; very delicious! I’m not a hug fan of pad thai but their’s was good. They also served us VERY fast, like we had everything under 10 minutes. Our server was very nice and attentive. Very much worth the visit!!
Great service, friendly and helpful. Nice, warm atmosphere. But the food? It is almost always wet. Not greasy.....just wet. Egg rolls are wet, grilled chicken is wet, fried rice is wet, sandwich is wet! .... dripping with some odd slime that is not sauce, not identifiable, nor flavorful. It as if they dribble water on the meal before serving. It is unpleasant and inedible. I've tried a few times, always the same. Any other Vietnamese restaurant around town is much better.
Probably my favorite Asian food in Anchorage. I absolutely love #47 mi ka ti curry soup with tofu. I'm not a vegetarian by any means, and the soup has a chicken base. But, there is just something about tofu in that soup that makes it glorious. Highly recommend.
Their lunch special is a good deal as well.
Solid takeout or dine-in option. Under the pho section of the menu, I got the lao kao peak sen, lao style (which I think means add crunchy pork belly bites), which was great. My wife got the eggplant which she didn't love. Kids liked the bbq pork, and they have a pretty good kids menu.
When I drive past this place on my way to work each day it is always packed. I had my first meal there and I understand why. The pumpkin coconut soup had an incredible level of spices. My colleague had the yellow curry and it smelled amazing from across the table. The steam bun was perfectly cooked and the service was great.
Hands down the best Pho I have had, even trying places out of state. Their popularity is apparent by just how busy they can get but they always put out great food.
A Laotian friend in uni used to cook for me. They recommended this restaurant after visiting Alaska, and it took me nearly four years to come. So glad I finally made it with covid dying down! The service was fast and friendly, even though every table was full. And the food was fantastic! Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations and try something new!
